A one page signed document, signed “George R,” measuring 13.5″ x 9.5″, dated July 31, 1795.
King George appoints Edward Templeton Gent “to be Ensign to that Company whereof is Captain in our Loyal Regiment of Fencible Infantry commanded by our Trusty and Well loved Colonel William Urgwhart and to take the rank in our Army during the establishment of said Regiment.” Signed in the top left corner “George R.”

In very good condition, with scattered soiling and toning, mostly to edges, three vertical folds, intact seals and several other signatures. George’s signature is just a shade light.
