Description

Official 2000 U.S. Open Pebble Beach Tournament Pin flag, nicely signed in black paint pen by 2000 US Open Champion Tiger Woods.

Number 168 from a numbered, limited edition of  500 (#168/500).

Embroidered into the flag is the inscription “Wire-to-Wire”.  Woods physically wrote out the inscription “Wire-to-wire” and then that inscription was embroidered directly onto the limited edition pin flag.

There are a few very minor pin-holes in the flag – these are in every single Tiger flag.  They pinned them to cardboard before he signed them so that his signature would come out nicer on the flat immovable surface.  They are near the corners and are very hard to see even in these close-up images.

Signed at an official paid private autograph session held in 2019.

Sold with Certificates of Authenticity from both The Autograph Source and Upper Deck Authenticated (UDA).

The 2000 PGA season was arguably the greatest of Tiger Woods’ prolific career. The highlight was his record-setting win at the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach.
Leading up to the tournament, Woods was not very impressive at the Masters. But he turned it on in June. He opened with a 65 and followed that with a 69 the second day. He kept it going all weekend, finishing with a 15-stroke win, which was two strokes better than the record for a major set by Old Tom Morris at the 1862 British Open.
His amazing combination of power, courage and intelligence on the course that weekend was something that hadn’t been seen in a long while, perhaps ever. It was truly one of golf’s most iconic performances at a major.
Always looking to place an original mark on golf’s most iconic items, UDA had Woods physically write out the inscription “Wire-to-Wire” and then get that inscription embroidered directly onto the pin flag. Woods has signed this limited edition (500) 2000 U.S. Open pin flag in black paint pen. His signature is deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated’s Five-Step Process.
